So it truly was a WHITE Christmas for us up here, and it is gorgeous; cold, but gorgeous! We had a nice quiet Christmas Eve, where I made rolls and clam chowder all from scratch. They turned out great, and I am proud to keep this tradition of Justin's family alive! Christmas morning was fun. Paige had a good time opening gifts, but didn't want to continue if she came across a "good one". We had to force her to open them all up! Apparently we have accumulated more than 50 inches of snow this month alone, and it is snowing every day at least until the 4th, so watch out....I said it couldn't possibly be as bad as last year, but it is already worse!

Please Remember...
As we all enjoy being with our loved ones this holiday season, please do not forget all those that are serving overseas....say a prayer for them.
Our White Christmas
It has been snowing non-stop for a week here....and it is cold! In the last 24 hrs. we have received 17 inches, and counting! They have officially closed most of the roads in Spokane...crazy, and today is a warm one at 14 degrees! It has been below zero at times lately, and our crappy single-pane windows are freezing on the inside...literally! Boy do I miss California at times like these. Anyway, it will be a "white Christmas" for sure, and I am trying to enjoy it...it really is gorgeous outside! We will be missing all our family and friends as we celebrate in Washington this year.

I am so glad...
I was blessed with a visit from my Dad this weekend....and it was great! It was nice to have some adult company...I have been alone with the kids too long :)
So, my Dad was kind and generous, and BOUGHT ME A DOUBLE STROLLER!!!! Yeah! I am so happy about it, because now I can get out for walks without having to wear River! Too bad it will be snowing all weekend, and 7 degrees outside...we have it in our living room just hanging out, and Paige climbs up and reads books in it! Thanks Dad SOOOO much, this really has changed my life! Here's Paige in her new hand-me-down cape...sooo hillarious in it. She becomes a character!

What happens when my husband is gone...
Well, to fill the days alone, I get out my sewing machine. We needed stockings, so I made some very un-christmas-like ones...but I like them! Our tree will go in the window once we get it. We have been waiting until Justin returns from Georgia....but it is hard to wait! Our dining table has become sewing central, as I just finished a baby quilt for my oldest friend Lindsay. In the process of sharing my labor of love, two people are going to have me make quilts for them! Yeah! So I will be busy during the cold days of January, which is a very, very good thing. pdbumbum will be back in action! Justin leaves again then for a few weeks to Las Vegas...wish I could tag along with some of my girlfriends and sister!

Sneak Peek
I took the kids yesterday to get our pictures taken as a surprise for Justin for Christmas....he is impossible to shop for now that we are on such a budget. This is just one of the proofs....and there will be many more to come....but I couldn't resist putting this up! Hopefully Justin won't decide to take an interest in my blog anytime soon... :)

Look outside my window...
I just took this, at 4:45 pm. It is cold, and wet, and slippery....and it is just beginning!!! I miss the California sunshine, and I hate that my sister wore a tank top yesterday in Santa Cruz while I am wearing thermals and fleeces and boots and gloves and hats! Oh well...I should try to enjoy it while we are here. I guess if I had 4-wheel drive I wouldn't care so much...but it is stressful having to live a normal life, and worrying about getting stuck or sliding off the road. Hopefully it won't be as bad as last year!

Justin is at Jump School..
Justin is gone in Georgia for the next three weeks jumping out of airplanes and helicopters....crazy! So, I am flying solo with the kids...so far, so good!
River is already getting so big! I love being a mom of 2 now...sometimes I feel like my heart is going to burst. I can't imagine my life without them!
Someone got into Mommy's make-up, and got caught. She said she was "pretty" now, so it was hard to stay mad at her.
She is also really into her hats these days. She thinks she is "cute" when she wears them. She doesn't understand why she doesn't need to wear them to bed...
Just my adorable brother and his wife...settling into married life together. They are too cute!

The Grand Columbian Triathlon
Justin competed/participated in a half iron man triathlon last month, and finished respectably in 7hrs. and 16 minutes. It was a 1.2 mile swim, 50 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run. He amazes me with his strength and determination. The crazy thing is, that he did not prepare for this at all...he really wanted to see how much of this challenge would be mental and how much would be physical. As you know, he is always in good shape for the average person, but I couldn't believe what he was going to do. He is nuts! He also did a 37 mile run in July where he finished in 7 and a half hours, resulting in a fractured foot. His next goal is a 50 mile run, and a 100 mile run to follow. Hopefully those two events will help him get this stuff out of his system :)
